We Hit Our Goal
We also received some good news from The Billfish Foundation. In late 2023, we set our goal to try to win these categories, so it’s very satisfying to have achieved it. I wish the awards would include our boat name rather than “Captain,” as this was a huge team effort with tons of hard work and dedication from our crew, ownership, and anglers – cheers to them!

Kona Fishing is HOT!
Tantrum has been fortunate to have another great couple of days on the water. Tuesday, we went 3/4 on blue marlin, including a nice fat one around 700 for our regular client, Michael. It was great to catch this beauty with Michael as he’s been fishing with us for some time, and while we’ve had some great numbers days, the nice ones have eluded us. We knew we had a nice one when we saw the giant hole on the long rigger where our Medium Bullet used to be! After a fun 25-minute fight with lots of drag, Michael had the leader in Lee’s gloved hands, and we had her boatside and tagged.

First Slam of 2025
On Thursday, we got our first slam for the year with 3/5 on blues, 1/1 on stripey, and 1/1 on spearfish, along with a nice mahimahi.
