While our overall championship in the Hawaii Marlin Tournament Series, a local series of events held in Kona, was a testament to our season-long effort, this particular win is something special. It’s a huge honor and the absolute highlight of an unforgettable year for our crew.
Unpacking the Marlin Global Challenge
For us, the Marlin Global Challenge was the big one we had our eyes on all season. It’s not your average tournament; it’s a marathon that spans the entire blue marlin season, pitting 48 of the best teams against each other in a hunt for the single biggest fish.
As you can see from Marlin Magazine’s Facebook announcement, the stakes were massive: a $100,000 grand prize, a stunning King Sailfish Mounts trophy, and an invitation to the Offshore World Championship in April 2026. Winning this isn’t just about getting lucky—it’s about being ready when that once-in-a-lifetime fish shows up.
Our Winning Moment
The moment that sealed the deal for us came during the Kona Throw Down tournament, a key event in the local Hawaii Marlin Tournament series. Everything just clicked. Thanks to the flawless teamwork of Capt. Nick Durham, Lee Findley, and Nick Watson, we managed to boat a phenomenal 715-pound blue marlin.
